This one still gives us goose-pimples. A giant illuminated balloon, the heliosphere, rises slowly over the horizon of the gardens. Beneath it, an acrobat performs a mesmerising aerial show, suspended between the villa and the night sky. At the perfect moment she draws a sword and passes it down from the air to the bride and groom, just as they step forward to cut the cake. It is theatrical, romantic and completely unforgettable, and the reaction of the guests seeing it for the first time is half the magic.
The Mapping Show
More original and more personal than any fireworks display, video-mapping turns the façade of the palace itself into a living canvas. The show can be dynamic and dramatic or soft and elegant, or move between the two as the evening does.
